Earwigs live and hide under stones and logs and piles of leaves. You might find as many as 100 under one log. Earwigs like to eat rotting fruit, vegetables and plants. The earwigs have a good chance of survival.People used to believe that earwigs crawled into people's ears and made holes in their eardrums.
Earwigs are not suitable for crawling long distances. They often get from one place to another by hitchhiking in clothing, paper, wood, cars and all sorts!
