Wolf Spiders are always hunting for food. This means the mommy spider carries her babies on her back while hunting. If something happens and the babies fall off, they just climb back on again!

Wow, what an amazing picture!! I saw a wolf spider in my yard the other day that looked exactly like that! A few years ago we found one on the porch that was almost FOUR inches across and was black and red--and had THOUSANDS of babies on her! It was amazing.
